The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect on 25 May 2018. It replaces the current data protection law in Northern Ireland and the rest of the EU. GDPR relates only to ‘Personal Data’. You can request access to the data we hold on you using our “Subject to Access Request” procedure. To find out about this procedure, click here.
We are committed to engagement with all stakeholders in a courteous, clear, fair, accessible and respectful way. If we fall short, tell us. We will then seek to resolve the issue as fairly and quickly as possible. Complaints are welcome, and will be handled confidentially.
We would be grateful if you could provide as much detail as possible to allow us to assess and respond to your complaint as quickly and effectively as possible. Once we receive your complaint we will acknowledge receipt, investigate without hesitation and contact you directly to let you know how we propose to resolve the issue.
For issues relating to commercial transactions (if you are an electricity generator, supplier, large demand user, interconnector trader etc.), we have a specific business/industry customer complaints policy which you will find here.
If you are a landowner affected by one of our grid development projects, the SONI landowner charter, outlining all our commitments to you, is available here.
